Vanilla Groove Sugar Scrub At Home Spa Treatment is a natural dry skin care product containing anti aging ingredients to exfoliate and moisturize dry skin, remove dry skin, and is excellent for eczema treatment and psoiasis.

Dry Skin is the most common skin condition encountered by physicians, and it affects nearly everyone worldwide. Vanilla Groove Sugar Scrub Exfoliator™ taps the power of sugar and soybean oils to remove dry, scaly skin as it revives and moisturizes without an oily residue. "Sugar" is the essence of "sugar" and it is a natural exfoliator that is also a skin moisturizer.
Treating dry skin may be as simple as keeping the skin moist - by taking fewer showers _ or the preferred method of using a sugar scrub treatment to help dry skin or aloe vera treatments. Natural body scrubs and moisturizing skin helps as do Vitamin A and Vitamin E and Vitamin C to help dry skin. So do herbal remedies and flaky skin treatment help dry skin.
Natural moisturizers and herbal formulas are for good skincare and Vanilla Groove Sugar Scrub Exfoliator™ treatments will help the return of your skin's natural suppleness and the smooth, velvety appearance of your youth. Vanilla Groove Sugar Scrub Exfoliator™ uses natural ingredients to retone your skin to remedy causes of dry skin and provide moisturizers for dry skin with essential oils.

It is important to have oil and moisture to have healthy skin. Some dry skin is because there aren't enough natural oils. Vanilla Groove replaces some of those natural oils. Other dry skin is due to a depletion of oil and moisture. Again, dry skin treatment can be as simple as using a premium sugar scrub with natural ingredients for dry skin. The word 'eczema' comes from Greek and literally means 'boiling over'. Normal skin acts as a barrier to prevent water loss and stop skin irritants from penetrating. If you have eczema your skin doesn't do this as effectively as it should, leading to dryness, itching and cracked, scaly skin which lets in bacteria and allergens that can cause an allergic reaction. It is not a contagious condition.

There are many kinds of eczema and they vary in intensity. Some is mild and some is severe, but the most common are atopic eczema and contact dermatitis. Atopic eczema is the body's allergic reaction to foreign substances. Many allergy sufferers have this type of eczema. The skin reacts to the allergy by becoming red, inflamed and very itchy. The condition is very itchy and mainly affects the inside of the elbows and knees, and the wrists and ankles. It is most frequently seen in children, although adults can also suffer from it. Contact dermatitis is actually an allergic reaction to a substance. .

Mild Dry Eczema
The mildest form of eczema involves chronic dry skin and itching. (You will find more information in the Dry Skin section.) Some people never develop the inflammatory symptoms associated with acute eczema, but the condition is still unpleasant and requires treatment with emollient therapy.

Acute Eczema
At its worst, acute eczema can involve a whole range of severe symptoms including dry skin, inflammation, itching, blistering, redness, scaling and weeping.

Chronic Eczema
Once someone has been suffering from acute eczema, their symptoms may enter a long term stage, as the skin function deteriorates. This is known as chronic eczema. The following features may occur: Initial inflammation subsides and is replaced by a thickening of the epidermis.
Scales appear as cell turnover increases.
Itching and scratching leads to fissuring of the epidermis when the skin becomes broken and cracked.
Incessant scratching may produce secondary thickening (lichenification).
The skin is still very dry.

Eczema in adults
If you continue to experience eczema as you get older, you will probably find that it affects the face, neck, upper chest, front of the shoulders, areas where the skin creases and the backs of the hands.
Again the main symptom is severe itching and the condition can be exacerbated by stress.

Allergic contact dermatitis
This condition is when the skin becomes sensitised to a substance. It can happen immediately or after many years of contact, such as in the case of a favourite perfume. Once your skin has become sensitised it can persist for life.

Common allergens are: nickel which maybe found in jewellery, cutlery and coins
perfume and fragrances in toiletries and skin care products
plants, particularly chrysanthemums, primula and grass
rubber (latex), which can be found in some protective gloves
the adhesive used in sticking plasters
metal primers and leather .

Emollients are the first line treatment for dry skin, eczema, dermatitis and the symptoms of dry skin associated with psoriasis. They are basically very effective moisturisers which come in a range of different formats and help to keep the skin moist and flexible so that it doesn't itch so much. Complete emollient therapy entails the daily use of Emollient Cream, Emollient Bath Oil & Emollient Soap substitute. When emollients are used correctly in this way, mild & moderate symptoms can often be managed without resorting to any of the stronger skin treatments, such as steroids. And even if other stronger treatments are recommended by your doctor, emollient therapy may still be necessary.

The itch scratch cycle
Eczema is often accompanied by a severe itching. Scratching can cause damage to the skin. This allows bacteria to penetrate the skin and the body's immune system reacts causing inflammation which in turn leads to further itching. Inflammation can result in infection which once more can lead to itching. This itch-scratch-inflammation cycle can be hard to break. Emollients with anti-itch ingredients can help.

Dry skin is a very common skin problem. For some people it may be a symptom of a hereditary or chronic dry skin condition such as eczema, psoriasis or contact dermatitis. For others, it is something that they suffer from at some point in their lives. Different people suffer to a different degree, but generally the same symptoms occur.

The symptoms of dry skin can be: a rough dry texture which sometimes flakes and may cause itching
calloused skin
cracked and fissured skin
red, chapped and sore skin
rawness and tightness

Where dry skin is a symptom of eczema, it can often be accompanied by a severe itching (pruritus). If scratched, this can cause infection, which once more can lead to itching. This itch-scratch-inflammation cycle can be hard to break but there are emollients which can help. If the itch is the major symptom, specially formulated emollients with anti-itch ingredients, should be used. What causes contact dermatitis?

The only real difference between eczema and contact dermatitis is the cause: Atopic eczema is caused by a number of inherited and environmental factors. You'll find more information in the eczema section.
Contact dermatitis is primarily caused when the skin comes into contact with certain substances. These substances may be general irritants (which can cause a reaction in anybody), or substances which cause an allergic reaction in some individuals.

Patch testing is a diagnostic tool to differentiate contact dermatitis from other skin disorders and identify the relevant allergen.

Irritant contact dermatitis (hand eczema)
If you have naturally dry skin, or you had eczema as a child, you may find that the condition reappears when the skin comes into contact with an irritant substance. This is called hand eczema. The irritants dry out the skin making it more vulnerable to damage and further attack. It's often found on the hands of nurses, housewives, gardeners, hairdressers, cooks and kitchen staff, painters, builders and engineers.

The most common irritants are: soap, detergents and any prolonged wet work
disinfectants and strong chemical cleaning products
paints, DIY materials, solvents, glues and resins
citrus fruits and vegetable juices, including tomato, onion and garlic
acids and alkalis
abrasive dust from stones, bricks, cement, sand or soil

The condition maybe aggravated by: cold, windy weather or extreme heat

Dry, cracked skin won't tolerate the drying and potentially irritating effects of soap or detergents, so skin specialists recommend that you use emollient soap substitutes or washes. These are non-drying and leave your skin feeling soft and comfortable. They feel different to normal soaps because they are free from soap and don't foam. Nevertheless, they are highly effective cleansers.

Your complete daily routine
In the morning, wash with a soap substitute or wash and gently pat your skin dry. Gently apply an emollient cream or lotion with clean hands in the direction of hair growth. Don't rub vigorously as you may trigger itching.

Throughout the day, use a soap substitute to wash your hands and apply an emollient cream or lotion whenever your skin feels dry or itchy. Don't allow your skin to dry out.

In the evening, a warm 10 minute bath with a bath oil will clean your skin so there's no need to use soap. Gently pat the skin dry and while still damp apply your preferred emollient liberally.
